Gave to a friends kid for a bedtime reading book. She loved it and ask to read It's Bedtime, Little Moon all the time.
It's Bedtime, Little Moon is a cute and relatable books about a child's bedtime routine. The book is written in English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese, making it a fantastic choice for bilingual learners or anyone wanting to introduce their child to the Chinese language.
My seven year old has been learning Chinese for a few years and was able to read the book on her own. The repetitive phrase and simple predictable text is designed for language learner.
The illustrations are charming and really bring the story to life, making it even more appealing to young readers. My kids particularly enjoy the toilet scene, which brought lots of giggles.
Purchased this during the Kickstarter because it was exactly the type of book I want for our bilingual collection. Quality English/Chinese books are so hard to come by and this has been a huge hit with my son! After reading a few times, I've started to pause and he'll finish the Chinese word in the sentence, so we're reading it together and it's helping to reinforce Chinese vocabulary that we use in daily life. We're always whispering by the time we finish the book (because Little Moon is finally going to sleep) and he's also ready for bed by then. It's been a great addition to our library. Even my mother-in-law, who doesn't speak Chinese, is able to read it with him because of the English! Great for the whole family.
